Pet Paradise
When I was just a small
child my mother said to me.
A pet is a gift from Heaven. Please treat it
accordingly.
I had a cat and a dog and even a rabbit or two
I learned a lot from each and every one. I will
share that with you.
We lived in a rural area where pets did not need
a leash.
They ran and played in the corn field and rested
underneath the trees.
They drank water from the cold creeks and sought
shelter in the shade.
One could see how these pets really
had it made.
Life was much simpler then for a young girl and
her furry friends
This was just inkling on what their life would
be when crossing to the other end.
Their green grass would be as soft as the greenest
velvets.
The waters would deliver their fountain of youth.
Their memories would be even sweeter once they
were under Heavens roof.
One day when an old cat was sick even mother
could not make her better
I said please make her well. I don't like to
see her under the weather,
Mother said the angels spoke to her and it was
mamma cat's time to go. I felt
So scared for her. I tried to keep from sobbing
but my tears continued to flow.
It is okay that you cry but she will be in a
restful place. She will make our
Light blue skies more brilliant and beam down
rainbows for you to chase.
We will prepare a lovely spot for her under her
favorite old willow tree
You can plant her daisies and talk and weep to
her ever so tenderly.
Remember
She was only on loan to you but the Angels needed
her above
You made her so happy here because of your nurturing
and endearing love.
She taught you many life long lessons on caring
and responsibility.
You can show you learned from her and allow her
spirit to flow free.
This was many years ago and she still is so
special in my heart
She often lets me know she thinks of me even
though we are apart
The Rainbow Garden flowers out bloom all the
rest. Thank you for sharing puss
with me. I now celebrate her life and do not
mourn her death.
My Wish to God
When we grow old and leave this earth please
let us be with our pets again.
That is a humble prayer from all of us who miss
a furry friend. Amen
